Gather with a group of friends Or family for a special birthday for a long weekend. Curl up and let songs come into your head, while others walk the green roads of the Burren. Sit within the bawn and watch the moon rise by Mullaghmore. Talk and tell stories by the fire of the Great Hall While dinner is cooked, and wonder at the good comfort Of times gone by, before falling asleep in a cosy bed.
Half a millenium of history is present in this late medieval tower house, now an oasis of warmth and tranquility. Liscannor flags, ancient oak, and sympathetic furnishings are all evidence of a careful and loving restoration, which has not compromised the authenticity of this remarkable building. In addition to central heating, turf-burning stoves provide extra heating for the large rooms. There are fine views across the amazing landscape of the Burren. Note that the wonderful curving stone staircase may not suit small children or those with walking disabilities.
There is a modern and fully-equipped kitchen and dining area on the ground floor with a guest WC. Stone spiral steps lead to the other rooms, with the impressive Great Hall (perfect for dining) and a second small kitchen on the top level. Arrangements can be made to have dinner prepared by local chefs. There are 6 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. The Castle therefore sleeps between four and eight guests.
The Tower House has two large double bedrooms, both with king sized beds, and one with waterbed and en suite bathroom. In addition there are two small twin bedrooms and two small single rooms.
Along with the guest WC on ground floor level there are two bathrooms. While the water supply will cope with several showers at a time, guests may need to stagger the times of ablutions! In addition to central heating turf burning stoves provide extra heating for the large rooms.
