Our trip went off beautifully. Everything worked out exactly as it should have. Even returning on Friday the 13th was no problem, however, that evening at home our oldest granddaughter hit a door and broke a toe - just two days before she was to go on a 30 mile two week hiking camp.
We loved Doolin, and Maeve was a perfect hostess. She made reservations for us at McDermott's so that we would have a front table for the music.
In Killarney our host was John King. My mother-in-law was a King from Cork, and John King says there are very few Kings in that area. We will pursue that further and see if we are related. He thought it was very possible as many first names were the same.
All accomodations were pleasant. Our bus and driver were excellent. Now we are spoiled!
We would be happy to recommend Authentic Ireland and Mark Lynch to everyone we know, and then some.

Greetings from Canada ....We just wanted to express how much we enjoyed our tour of Southern Ireland. We did not know what to expect when booking with your company and using C.I.E. tours.
We travelled from the 5th/6th June till the 13 June 2008 and did the Shannon to Dublin Heritage Tour. From the moment we stepped foot in Ireland till the time we left we were treated as family. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome.
The tour was fantastic, places we stayed in were incredible and the Tour Guide Joe Clancy was funny, witty and very knowledgeable with history and folklore. Tom Ryan was a phenomenal driver, we could not imagine driving those roads on our own.
We would not hesitate to use you company again and have told our travel agent so (she assisted us in all the arrangements).

I am home from Ireland today. We had a great trip, the house was great, very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for us all.
The golf courses were magnificent, though challenging. The wind and the rough got the better of us. I will always remember the feeling standing on the first tee at Royal County Down, I am not sure if it was fear or excitement! I could not have had a better way to celebrate my 50th.

Brenda and I just want to thank you for one of the most memorable experiences of our lifetimes. It is without exaggeration at all to tell you that there was not so much as minor negative experience with the tour you so ably arranged. Well, one small one. I was able to remove a mirror on the vehicle we rented through an unfortunate encounter with a mail box. However Thrifty Car Rental said "not a problem" and we continued on our way; safely I might add with a new van. Your expertise, advice and attention made, as I say the vacation of a lifetime. The hotels were incredible and the people we encountered the most charming, efficient and entertaining I have ever experienced in over 40 years of travel to Europe and around the world. If ever you need or want a recommendation you have it from us. Thanks for making our lives even more enjoyable than they already are.

We would have been lost without your services which I have to say were excellent so we are happy to help out in any way we can.
In summary: the buss drivers were very good, particularly Bruno who was excellent. The two hotel choices were great, including locations. Everyone had great things to say about Limerick city. We had the right mix of tours but should have checked the weather and done the Ring on Monday and Dingle on Tuesday as fog/rain put a damper (!) on the Ring.
Kristy probably knows of websites where we can post “hooray to Authentic Ireland” messages. BTW, we appreciated your note which was read aloud at the wedding followed by a big “awh, Ivan” from the group! Thanks again for all your help. Damien.

My sister’s and I have been saving for 4 years to send our parents on a nice vacation for their 25th wedding anniversary, well the time had come for us to start looking. I filled out the contact us info on your website and heard back from and she has been so helpful!!!! She is VERY quick to respond and answers all questions (and we had LOTS J ) and usually gave more info in her answers that she thought would also help us, and to me she has gone above and beyond service level with just doing that alone.
So, I just had to pass on to her supervisor the great work she is doing!!!

Hi Christina - sorry for the delay in giving you an update, but we had a wonderful time in Ireland.
All the arrangements that you made for us happened without any glitches. Waterford Castle in particular was a spectacular part of our trip. Each and every one of our B&B stops was exceptional in terms of the facilities, food and generosity of spirit on the part of the hosts.
We also met some of the distant relatives in Ballindine, Co. Mayo, and were able to visit the old homestead of great-great grandparents and the local church cemetery as well.
We look forward to a return trip in the future, and will certainly keep you in mind for future arrangements. Thank you for all your helpfulness in addressing questions and all issues surrounding our wonderful trip to Ireland. Mike

We wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time on our Authentic Ireland tour. Thank you for all of the excellent arrangements and thank you, especially, for Martin Wilde! Martin was amazing. He was a fine driver (of course), and a wonderfully knowledgeable tour guide (of course) - he seemed to know something about the origin, history, and/or current situation of every tower, castle, martello, and small town we passed. He also was a wizard at taking our wish list of places we hoped to see and turning it into a practical itinerary.
Most of all, though, we appreciated Martin's good nature and marvelous flexibility. He was always punctual and organized, and yet he also had the patience of a saint in dealing with our busload of sometimes contrary individuals. Keeping track of us was like herding cats! Or herding turtles, given our tendency to dawdle. Yet somehow he always managed to get us where we wanted to be, and did it all with unfailing good humor. He's a gem!
We look forward to someday returning and exploring more of your beautiful country, and we wouldn't hesitate to use your services again. And if you would like to refer future prospective customers to us for a positive recommendation, we'd be happy to share our experiences with them. The west coast was so beautiful - driving the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula was breathtaking. I enjoyed the food and drink a lot. I liked the size of the cities – even Dublin was very walkable. It is a much more laid back place than where we live at home. Strangely enough, I think Ireland has great restroom facilities in all of the pubs and restaurants --- such a pleasant change from the disgusting ones you find in the States. We booked a Burren Walking Tour with John it was just us and the guide, and it was fantastic. Talking to him gave us a real feel for genuine Irish country life. You should definitely keep sending people his way. I would recommend both Ireland and Authentic Ireland Travel’s services to my friends.

At the Bed and Breakfasts and Ballynanich Castle all the staff was very nice, and helpful. We had a great experience at all of these places.
